All-Stars Announced
The Cape Cod Baseball League has announced the rosters for the 2010 Cape Cod Baseball League All-Star Game. Chatham players selected to the East Team are RHP Derek Self (Louisville), RHP Logan Verrett (Baylor), 1B Aaron Westlake (Vanderbilt) and C Joe Pavone (UCONN).

Westlake, last week's Coca Cola Player of the Week, was selected as the starting first baseman for the East squad. He is currently hitting .300 with two home runs and four RBI on the season. Self is tied for second in the league with three wins, including a complete game, one-hit victory over the Hyannis Harbor Hawks on July 11th. His 1.25 ERA is good for sixth in the league among pitchers with a minimum 0.8 innings pitched per team game. Verrett has been equally impressive in his four starts, going 1-1 with a 0.69 ERA, which is third in the league. Verrett began the season by pitching 25.2 consecutive scoreless innings. Pavone currently leads the Anglers with a .313 batting average in 21 games.

In addition to the four All-Stars, Rick Oropesa (USC) will participate in Home Run Derby. Oropesa, who just a few weeks ago participated in the TD Ameritrade College Home Run Derby at Rosenblatt Stadium in Omaha, is tied for the league lead with four home runs.

The Cape Cod Baseball League All-Star Game will take place at Boston's Fenway Park, July 28 at 7:05 p.m. General admission tickets are on sale for $10. More information is available HERE.
