Veterans Field, the home of baseball in Chatham since 1923, underwent its first resurfacing in nearly two decades following the conclusion of the 2025 Cape Cod Baseball League season.
The project – which entirely replaced the infield grass and dirt — eliminated protruding lips between grass and dirt and included a renovation of the field's sprinkler and irrigation system. It marks the first major makeover of the Veterans Field playing surface since 2007. Sports Turf Specialities, which handles annual field projects at Veterans Field and across the Cape League, completed the renovations.
