Chatham’s Freeman, Larson, Jackson, Swink named 2025 CCBL All-Stars
CHATHAM, Mass. — Four Chatham players have been selected to the 2025 Cape Cod Baseball League All-Star Game roster, the league announced Saturday. Jackson Freeman (Northwestern) and Ashton Larson (LSU/transfer) were named East Division starters while Daniel Jackson (Georgia) and Josh Swink (Liberty) were announced as reserves.

Freeman will start in right field for the East’s squad, becoming the second straight Angler to start in right at the All-Star Game after Larson did so last season for Chatham. Freeman ranks second on the A’s with a .841 OPS while his .308 batting average is the best among Chatham’s qualified hitters. His 21 games played are tied for a team-lead with shortstop Isaiah Lane (San Diego), while his 24 total hits pace all Anglers position players.

After arriving a couple weeks into the summer due to LSU’s College World Series run, Larson secured his second consecutive CCBL All-Star nod despite having just nine games under his belt. He’s also starting again, but this time as a designated hitter. Larson is batting .314 in 35 at-bats, racking up 11 hits, seven runs batted in and one home run — a game-winning grand slam against Falmouth on July 6. A recent transfer-portal entry, Larson’s been making an excellent impression on outfield-needy NCAA programs.

For the reserves, Jackson will represent the A’s for the first time in his career. It’s also his second summer in Chatham after playing four games on its active roster in 2024. This season, he’s become a staple of the front of its batting order. Jackson’s .901 OPS leads the team, and his two homers rank tied for second. The catcher has developed a knack for getting on-base, currently ranking second in the CCBL with a scintillating .458 on-base percentage.

Chatham’s final selection, Swink, has been one of its most consistent hurlers this year. In six games (12.1 innings), Swink has totaled a reliable 1.46 ERA with nine strikeouts compared to just two walks issued. Though he leads the A’s in appearances he’s only given up two earned runs just over the halfway point of the Cape League season. Swink is Chatham’s lone pitching selection to this year’s All-Star Game.

The Anglers will be in action at the CCBL All-Star Game on Saturday, July 19, at Yarmouth-Dennis’ Red Wilson Field.
