2026 PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

fter a cold and snowy winter our Chatham Athletic Association is proud to be bringing you
another summer of exciting Chatham Anglers baseball at Veterans Field! We are also looking
Aforward to celebrate America’s 250 birthday by bringing the fifth annual patriotic fireworks &
entertainment event to Veterans Field on July 2nd.

This 2026 Anglers yearbook is full of information about our Chatham Angler players, coaches, and
support staff. It also thanks and appreciates our 700+ generous boosters, and recognizes the many
individuals, local businesses, civic organizations, and Town of Chatham personnel who provide
support to our organization. Finally, this yearbook also spotlights the many volunteers, interns, host
families, post-game meal donors, bat boys, anthem performers, and others who are all essential for
us to bring first-class, Chatham Anglers summer baseball to Veterans Field.

Speaking of Veterans Field, we continue to make improvements to the premier Cape League ballpark.
Our latest improvement, completed last fall, is the installation of an entirely new grass turf infield.
Since becoming the Anglers organization President in 2013 we have installed new lights (2014 with
Town CPC support), installed a new press box scoreboard (2016), installed a new outfield scoreboard with a pitch velocity indicator
(2019), replaced our bleacher seating (2019 with Town CPC Support), improved our backstop safety netting system (2022), installed
pitch clock timers (2023), and planted six evergreen fir trees beyond the center field fence to serve as a batters-eye backdrop (2025).
All these improvements were made to benefit our players and/or our fans and we thank our fans, and the Town of Chatham, for the
generous financial support that helped make these improvements a reality. We’re biased, but we believe Veterans Field is the finest
baseball venue on Cape Cod.

This year we are excited Dennis Cook has returned for his second season as our Anglers manager. Dennis spent fifteen years pitching
in the major leagues, served as our Anglers pitching coach for four years, and has coached baseball around the world since his
retirement (last fall winning the United Series league championship in Dubai). Dennis is excited to be returning (see his comments
on the following page) and we know he’s bringing a talented group of players from across the country to Chatham, players who
hope to shine on the Cape League stage as they pursue their dreams of reaching the major leagues. There are currently over 30
former Anglers in the majors, including 2022 World Series MVP Jeremy Pena (2017), 2016 National League MVP and World Series
Champion Kris Bryant (2011), and the #1 draft pick in the 2020 draft, Spencer Torkelson (2018-9).

So, whether you’re a long-time Angler fan, a first-time visitor, or fit somewhere in between, we hope you have a wonderful Veterans
Field experience, one that provides you with great summer memories! To make the most of your game day experience please

items, enter our 50/50 raffle to win great prizes & cash, and donate generously when you arrive or when we ‘pass the hat’ through
