ZACH KING - SOPHOMORE - VANDERBILT / HOMETOWN: SPRING HILL, TN

Zach recently completed his sophomore season for the Vanderbilt University Commodores. He was used primarily as a reliever
with a few starts. Zach averaged a strikeout per inning and was tied for the team lead in saves. As a freshman, Zach made 25
appearances and finished with a 2-1 record along with a 2.56 ERA. In high school, Zach was considered to be the second best
pitching prospect in Tennessee. He led his high school to the Tennessee state championship in 2016. Long term, Zach is considered
as a starting pitcher.
MIKE KIRIAN - FRESHMAN - LOUISVILLE / HOMETOWN: NEW RIEGEL, OH
PITCHER - 6’5” – 240 LBS. – R/L
Mike recently completed his freshman season for the University of Louisville Cardinals. He was used in short relief during the
2018 season. In high school, Mike was a four-year letter winner. As a senior he was named as the Ohio Gatorade Player of the
Year. He was ranked as the 155th prospect by Perfect Game in the class of 2017. He finished his high school senior year with an 8-0
record, 0.50 ERA, and 129 strike-outs. Kirian was a three year letter winner in basketball during his prep years. Kirian’s fastball is
in the mid-90s. In addition, Mike can throw both his curve ball and change-up for strikes.
ALEK MANOAH - SOPHOMORE - WEST VIRGINIA / HOMETOWN: HOMESTEAD, FL
PITCHER - 6’6” – 260 LBS. – R/R
Alek Manoah joins the 2018 Chatham Anglers after completing his sophomore year for the University of West Virginia Mountain-
eers. Manoah made appearances in both starting and relief roles. He averaged more than a strikeout per inning. As a freshman
in 2017, Alek finished with a 1-1, 2 saves, a 3.07 ERA while striking out 45 hitters. In his senior year of high school Manoah was
ranked as the 109th best high school prospect in the country. Alek’s fastball is in the mid 90s and can throw his curveball for
strikes. Alek is both large and strong which suggests future development with his fastball. Alek’s brother Erik plays in the Los
Angeles Angels organization.
KYLE MCCANN - RED-SHIRT SOPHOMORE – GEORGIA TECH / HOMETOWN: SUWANEE, GA
C/1B - 6’2” - 217 - R/R
Kyle McCann joins the 2018 Anglers after completing a very successful sophomore season for Georgia Tech. Kyle made significant
improvements over his freshman season. Although viewed as a catcher in the future, Kyle played catcher, first base and desig-
nated hitter. Kyle raised his average by close to 90 points, and increases in home runs, RBIs, slugging and on-base percentage.
Prior to his years at Georgia Tech, Kyle had a phenomenal prep career. He helped his high school win the state (Georgia) and
national championships in 2014. He was the MVP at the Perfect Game Wood Bat Tournament in 2015, where his travel team won
the championship. His travel team also won the 18 and Under Connie Mack World Series. Kyle’s father Joe played professionally
for the New York Mets.
ASHTON MCGEE - SOPHOMORE - NORTH CAROLINA / HOMETOWN: PIKEVILLE, NC

Ashton McGee returns for his second year with the Anglers. Ashton has been a two-year starter at UNC, helping lead UNC into the
NCAA playoffs each year. After Ashton’s inaugural 2017 freshman year he earned several honors including being named to the
Freshman All-American Team and being named ACC Freshman of the Year.
COLIN PELUSE - SOPHOMORE – WAKE FOREST / HOMETOWN: MIDDLETOWN, DE
PITCHER - 6’3” – 235 LBS. – R/R
Colin Peluse joins the 2018 Anglers as part of a long tradition of Wake Forest University Demon Deacons to play on Veterans Field.
He has recently completed his second great season for Wake Forest. As a freshman, Colin finished with a 5-1 record, 3.54 ERA while
holding opposing batters to a .209 average. As a sophomore Colin joined the weekend rotation and led the Demon Deacons in
wins, second in innings pitched while holding opposing hitters to a low .200 batting average. He has a strong frame and is athlet-
ic. His fastball is regularly in the low 90s to go along with a power curve ball and hard change-up. He has good control.
BEN RAMIREZ - FRESHMAN – USC / HOMETOWN: CHULA VISTA, CA
INFIELDER - 6’3” – 190 LBS. – L/R
Ben Ramirez will be joining the Chatham Anglers along with USC teammates Kyle Hurt and Blake Sabol for the 2018 season. Ben
is coming off his freshman year at USC. He started off slowly due to some injuries, but by mid-season Ben was a regular in the
Trojan line-up. The highlight of his season came against Arizona State as he had 5 hits, 5 runs and 6 RBIs in one game. Ben played
four years of varsity baseball at Eastlake High School in Chula Vista, CA. (near San Diego). He was considered one of top prospects
in Southern California in 2017. Ramirez was drafted by the Chicago Cubs in the 35th round of the 2017 MLB First Year Player Draft.
Ben was used primarily at third base by USC where he was coached by Chatham A’s alum, Gabe Alvarez. He is capable of playing
additional positions.
