JORGE ARENAS - SOPHOMORE – STETSON (FL) / HOMETOWN: MIAMI, FL
SHORTSTOP - 6’0” - 200 - R/R
Jorge Arenas joins the 2018 Chatham Anglers after recently completing his sophomore season for the Stetson University Hatters.
Jorge was the starting shortstop for the Hatters. As a freshman in 2017, Areanas received Atlantic Conference All-Freshman Hon-
ors. As a freshman, Arenas began his career at third base before moving to shortstop. He started all 56 games. He led the team
in hitting and had 15 multi-hit games. In 2018, he served as one of four co-captains for the baseball team. Jorge was among the
team leaders in RBIs and triples. Jorge was named to the Atlantic Sun Academic Honor Roll. In high School Arenas was a two sport
athlete and was a four year letter winner in baseball.
JEFF BELGE - SOPHOMORE - ST. JOHN’S / HOMETOWN: SYRACUSE, NY
PITCHER - 6’5” - 225 – L/L
Jeff Belge returns for his second summer season with the Anglers. In the summer 2017 his record was 1-2 with a 4.05 ERA. He
started six of the seven games in which he appeared. In high school Jeff was a star player. He lettered for five years and was
named Baseball MVP in his senior year. In the 2018 collegiate season, Belge appeared in both starting and relief roles. He was
part of one of the best starting pitching staffs in the nation at St. John’s. He averaged 10 strikeouts per every nine innings. Belge
was drafted in the 32nd round of the 2016 MLB First Year Player Draft by the Boston Red Sox.
CODY BRADFORD - SOPHOMORE - BAYLOR / HOMETOWN: ALEDO, TX
PITCHER - 6’3” – 190 LBS. – L/L
Cody recently completed his sophomore season for the Baylor University Bears. Cody was part of the starting rotation for Baylor.
He showed significant improvement in 2018 as his earned run average was three runs less than 2017. As a freshman, Cody started
14 out of his 15 appearances. He was named to the Academic Big 12 Rookie Team. Academically, Cody was his high school’s vale-
dictorian. His academic success has continued into college. In addition, Cody has been on the Big 12 Commissioners Honor Roll
and the Dean’s List. In the 2018 Cody earned Big 12 Pitcher of the Week Honors on several occasions. His best start of the season
came against Texas Christian as he pitched a complete game one hitter along with 10 strike-outs. Cody is coached at Baylor by
former Chatham A’s pitching coach Jon Strauss.
MICHAEL BUSCH - SOPHOMORE – UNIVERSITY OF NORTH CAROLINA / HOMETOWN: INVER GROVE HEIGHTS, MN
FIRST BASEMAN - 5’10” – 198 LBS. – L/R
Michael has completed his sophomore season for the University North Carolina Tar Heels. He was among the most consistent
hitters in the UNC line-up. Michael was among the team leaders in average, homeruns, RBIs and on-base-percentage. Busch
played in 55 games as a freshman. He has shown strong plat discipline. His average increased by 100 points while his homeruns
quadrupled over his freshman season. In high school, Busch played primarily at shortstop. He was named as the #3 player in the
state of Minnesota in 2016. Michael was a three sport athlete in high school. His versatility to play multiple positions will offer
the Anglers flexibility.
JACK CONLON - FRESHMAN - TEXAS A&M / HOMETOWN: SUGAR LAND, TX
PITCHER - 6’1” – 220 LBS. – R/R
Jack Conlon recently finished his academic freshman season at Texas A&M, while being red-shirted by the baseball team. Jack
was selected 128th overall (fourth round) by the Baltimore Orioles in the 2017 MLB First Year Player Draft. In high school, Jack
was a four-year letter winner at Clemente High School in Sugar Land, TX. Conlon played for the Texas Rangers Area Code Team in
2016. Jack threw a no-hitter in high school freshman debut. Jack was the 239th prospect on Baseball America’s 2017 Top 500 Draft
Prospect List. His fastball is regularly in the low 90s, but has been clocked as high as 95 m.p.h.
JOHN DOXAKIS - SOPHOMORE - TEXAS A&M / HOMETOWN: HOUSTON, TX
PITCHER - 6’4” – 205 LBS. – L/L
John Doaxkis joins the 2018 Chatham Anglers after completing his sophomore season for the Texas A&M Aggies. In high school,
John was a four-year letter winner. In his senior year of high school he was named to the All Greater Houston Team. As a college
freshman, Doaxkis pitched in 25 games including 7 starts. He had a 4-3 record with a 5.44 ERA, while holding opposing hitters to
a .237 batting average. In the summer 2017, John played in the Alaska League where he posted a 3-1 record with a 1.08 ERA. He
was named the number one prospect in the Alaska Baseball League by D1Baseball.com. In the recently completed 2018 season,
Doaxkis demonstrated increased development as he became a member of the Aggies weekend rotation. His ERA was lowered by
two runs and he led the Aggies pitchers in strikeouts.
