Chatham opens season June 15 as CCBL releases 2024 Schedule
Chatham's schedule for the 2024 season has been announced. Under first year field manager Jeremy Sheetinger, the Anglers open their season at Wareham on June 15. Chatham plays under the lights of Veterans Field for the first time on June 16 against Yarmouth-Dennis.

The Anglers host the back-to-back champion Bourne Braves the next day on June 17 before traveling to Hyannis. June 19 marks the first scheduled off day for Chatham. The following week the Anglers have one of four mandatory off days that have been implemented into the new schedule. No makeup games will be allowed on these four dates listed on the full CCBL schedule linked below.

This season's Fourth of July contest against Orleans will return to Veterans Field. The Anglers visit the Firebirds the day before on July 3. Chatham and Orleans were rained out on July 4 a season ago at Eldredge Park. The Anglers won four of six matchups against the Firebirds last year. Chatham finished its season with a thrilling 14-12 road win against the eventual CCBL runner-up.

In addition to mandatory off days, there are a few more schedule changes this season. The Cape Cod Baseball League will drop down to a 40-game schedule that commences five days later than this past summer. All teams will now play just five games against division opponents. Chatham will only host Orleans and Brewster twice and only travel to Yarmouth-Dennis and Harwich twice.

After a final off-day on Aug. 5, the CCBL playoffs start on Aug. 6 and last until Aug. 12. The first round of the CCBL playoffs in 2023 will feature four single elimination matchups before returning to three game series for the division and league championships. The Anglers didn’t qualify for the postseason in 2023. Chatham last made the playoffs in 2019, dropping back-to-back games in the East Divisional Series against Harwich.
