Anglers media team announced

After announcing its broadcast pairing on May 16, the Chatham Athletic Association is pleased to introduce the final two members of its 2014 media team.

Jesse Dougherty, from Elkins Park, Pa., joins the media team as its beat reporter, while Karly Laliberte of Pawtucket, R.I., will do the same as its photographer. Dougherty is a rising junior at Syracuse University and Laliberte a rising junior at Fairfield University, and together they will provide up-to-the-minute content for everything Anglers baseball this summer.

"We're thrilled to have Jesse and Karly on our team," said Dan D'Uva, the CAA's Media & Broadcast Advisor. "To maximize the Anglers' presence in the evolving world of new media we need talented journalists like Jesse and Karly who embrace the cutting edge and tell stories in creative ways. Fans will develop an intimate connection with the 2014 Anglers through Jesse's insightful writing and Karly's artful photography."

You’ll be able to keep up with Dougherty and Laliberte’s work on ChathamAnglers.com, and by following the team’s Twitter and Flickr pages.

Jesse Dougherty | Syracuse University

Dougherty just finished his sophomore year at Syracuse where he is double majoring in newsprint and online journalism and political science. He is the sports editor at The Daily Orange — the independent student newspaper of Syracuse, N.Y. — where he has covered an array of Syracuse sports including men’s lacrosse and men’s soccer. He will cover the University’s football team for the newspaper in the fall. As a freelance reporter, Dougherty has been published in the Philadelphia Inquirer as a political reporter and The Boston Globe as a sports correspondent. Baseball was his first love among all sports, fostered by his father who took him to Philadelphia Phillies games before he could tie his own shoes. He will be coming to the Cape for the first time this summer.

Karly Laliberte | Fairfield University

Laliberte is an undergraduate student at Fairfield where she is pursuing an academic major in studio art with a concentration in photography and a minor in marketing. As a “Magis Scholar,” she has made the Dean’s List every semester since enrolling at Fairfield. This fall, Laliberte will study abroad at the Florence University of the Arts in Florence, Italy. After college, she hopes to pursue a career as a commercial photographer or in the magazine editing business. She began play with Fairfield University’s women’s tennis team, a Division I program that plays in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, this past year. As a Pawtucket native, she became a fervent baseball fan while attending Pawtucket Red Sox games with her family when she was younger. She also watched a handful of Anglers games while living on the Cape last summer.
