Coast Guard flyover to take place prior to Saturday's game against Bourne

A ceremony honoring local military and first responders will take place prior to Chatham's game with Bourne. It will be held live at 6:45 p.m. at Veterans Field and will be streamed live on the Cape Cod Baseball Network. The Anglers Extra Pregame Show will start at 6:30 as opposed to its usual 6:40 start time.

The festivities will start with a Coast Guard honor guard flag presentation. Active and auxiliary Coast Guard personnel will take the field alongside members of the local and state police, fire and ambulance services to receive recognition. Chatham fire personnel will also be recognized on the hill in front of the Chatham fire station on Depot Street in right field.

Prior to the national anthem, a chaplain will read a blessing over the ceremony. A large American flag will hang from a fire truck ladder at the station. As former Anglers intern Ellie O'Reilly sings the national anthem, a Coast Guard Sikorsky helicopter will arrive, circle the field and depart over the center field flag.

After the ceremony, the Anglers will take on the first-place Bourne Braves for the third and final time this season. Chatham currently sits at 10-15-3 and will use the final 10 games of the season to try and ascend into a playoff spot.
