2017 Broadcast Team Introduced

The Chatham Athletic Association is pleased to introduce the Anglers broadcast team for the 2017 season.

Drew Carter, a Syracuse University sophomore, and Max Herz, a senior at Vanderbilt University, will provide play-by-play for all regular season and postseason games on the Cape Cod Baseball Network. The duo debuts June 14 when Chatham visits Falmouth.

"Drew and Max have garnered tremendous on-air experience at school, and their backgrounds will make for a rich partnership on Chatham's broadcasts," Dan D'Uva said, the CAA's media consultant. "Entering Chatham's 15th season on the air, we're proud to have such talented and professional young men join our team. Drew and Max will continue our tradition of broadcast excellence, and listeners will appreciate their descriptions, storytelling, and love of the game."

Carter and Herz will lead Chatham's 15th year of live play-by-play broadcasting, with the Anglers offering online audio and toll-free telephone broadcasts for all games, plus video streaming for home games. In conjunction with long-time service provider TRZ Teamline, fans can enjoy all Chatham games free of charge. The Anglers' SoundCloud will feature broadcast archives, highlights, features, interviews and entire game broadcasts on demand. More information about the Cape Cod Baseball Network is available at Broadcast Central.

Drew Carter | Syracuse University

Carter, from Plymouth, Minnesota, began studying broadcast and digital journalism at Syracuse University's Newhouse School in the fall of 2015. He is a member of the sports staff at WAER, an NPR station in Syracuse, contributing to broadcasts of SU football, men's basketball, and men's lacrosse by calling games, hosting and producing in the studio, and creating audio pieces. Carter serves as Assistant Sports Director at Z89, a student-run radio station on campus. He is also a studio host, anchor, and analyst at CitrusTV, the oldest student-run television station in the country. Carter is a broadcast intern with the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League. Last summer he called games for the Syracuse Junior Chiefs of the New York Collegiate Baseball League.

Max Herz | Vanderbilt University

A Pittsburgh native, Herz arrives for his first season on the Cape as a recent graduate of Vanderbilt University, where he filled multiple broadcasting roles during his four years in Nashville. Herz served as the dugout reporter for Vanderbilt baseball broadcasts on the SEC Network the past three seasons, working with one of college baseball's top programs. Herz was also the Sports Director for VandyRadio, the Vanderbilt campus radio station, leading Vanderbilt soccer broadcasts and hosting two weekly radio shows. This past football season, Herz became the in-game host for Vanderbilt football, providing commentary, conducting interviews, and hosting fan contests at SEC football games.
