2025 IN MEMORIAM
The Chatham Athletic Association and Chatham Anglers lost two of our long-standing fans and important members of our Angler
family in the last year. We wish to express our sympathy and condolences to the families and friends of
Joe Ullian and Richard “Dick” Monahan.
Richard Monahan 1933-2024. “Dick” became part of the Angler family in the last two decades as
the patriarch of the Olsen, Kavey and Streeter families. Those three families, headed up by his three
daughters and including their husbands and many children have been instrumental in operating
our merchandise and concession operations for many years. Dick was a lawyer and instructor at
his beloved Boston College and he was always quick to share his wit and wisdom. Our sympathy
and condolences to his wife, daughters and their husbands as well as his many grandchildren and
great grandchildren.
Joe Ullian 1930-2024. Joe was a 40+ year, long-time, diehard fan of the A’s/Anglers,
often commenting that he was searching for an alternative to Major League Baseball.
Joe was a Harvard educated philosophy professor, but at heart a fanatical baseball and
sports fan. Along with his wife Linda, he was a fixture sitting behind homeplate scoring
Angler games. His knowledge of baseball was second to none. He is dearly missed by
his family and by those fortunate enough to have known him.
