PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

ello, and welcome to another summer of exciting and entertaining Chatham Anglers
baseball! This souvenir book contains a wealth of information about our organization,
our team, and our history. It also identifies and thanks our members (approaching 1,000)
Hand the many other individuals and businesses that have stepped forward to support us.
They, along with our hard working volunteers, interns, host families, and Board of Directors, are
the drivers that allow us to provide you, our fans, with a first-class Chatham baseball experience
when you attend Angler games at Veterans Field.

Speaking of Veterans Field, we continue to make improvements to enhance your Anglers game day
experience. This year, we’ve updated our concession stand with all new appliances, shelving and
countertops and added a storage pod down the right field line to help us with our concession, and
other, storage needs. On a grander scale, we have partnered with the Town to secure the necessary
approvals and funding to undertake an engineering study to determine the best option to replace
our existing bleacher system and to terrace the right field hill. This is a multi-phase, multi-year
project that we hope culminates with these improvements being in place for the 2019 season. As we make these improvements
we always keep in mind the importance of maintaining the historic charm of Veterans Field, where the field is nestled in a natural
bowl with great views from everywhere, where a convenient lighted playground beckons near right field, and where stunning
sunsets occur over the left field tree line.

When attending an Anglers game, make sure to stop by our merchandise booth to browse and purchase Anglers logo items and
to visit our revamped concession stand to indulge on our wide array of delectable items. Finally, no Anglers game experience is
complete without entering our 50/50 raffle, your chance to win great prizes provided by our local merchants, or the grand prize
of half the money.

We are proud to bring you the best college baseball summer league in the country, a league where over 15% of the current Major
Leaguers played. Enjoy the excellent baseball, the sound of wood bats, the free admission (we will “pass the hat” asking for your
generous donation), and then after the game go on the field for autographs, pictures, and conversations with our players and
coaches.

John Schiffner, (“Schiff”) the winner of more games than any manager in Cape League history, will again lead the Anglers in this,
his silver anniversary 25th season. Schiff has again lined up a very talented group of players from across the country to compose
our 2017 team.

We hope you will spend many enjoyable summer nights at Veterans Field cheering on the Anglers. You can also keep with the
Anglers at all our games (home or away) by following the action live on our ChathamAnglers.com website broadcast.
