Anglers Rack up Regular Season Awards
Before Tuesday night's playoff game against the Y-D Red Sox, a 6-0 vcitory for the Anglers, Chatham racked up six different regular season awards.

The Anglers, who finished the season with a league-best 26-17-1 record, were awarded the President's Trophy by League Commissioner Paul Galop. The trophy is given to the team that finishes with the best regular season record.

Chatham was also awarded with the East Division regular season Championship trophy, their first since 2001. The Anglers clinched that title with a miraculous comeback on July 31 against the Y-D Red Sox, where they scored four runs in the ninth inning to tie the game, then won it in the 10th inning on a squeeze bunt by Jimmy Pickens (Michigan State).

Right-hander Lukas Schiraldi (Texas) was awarded the the B.F.C Whitehouse Award for the Cape League's most outstanding pitcher of the year prior to his domination of the Red Sox in the game one victory. On the season, including playoffs, Schiraldi has dominated the league, posting an impressive 1.01 ERA with 33 strikeouts and only five earned runs allowed over 44.2 innings pitched.

Manager John Schiffner won his second Mike Curran Manager of the Year Award in his 21st year of managing the Anglers. He won the award in 1999 as well.

Tommy Lawrence (Maine) won the John Claffey award, which is given to the top Cape League player from the New England region. On the season, Lawrence has been spectacular, posting a perfect 3-0 record with a 1.58 ERA, 23 strikeouts, and only one walk over 28.1 innings pitched this season.

Connor Joe (San Diego) won the Daniel J. Silva Sportsmanship Award. The honor is given and decided by the Cape League umpires.
