Anglers face Falmouth in Make-up Game
When will the Anglers lose a game' The team has gotten off to an unheralded 4-0 start to the season, and will look to continue their unbeaten run at Veterans Field tonight against Falmouth (2-2).

For the team, the goal, of course, is to keep winning, but they are taking it one day at a time.

"If we keep winning, we keep winning," Pitcher Matt Gage (Siena) said. "The plan is to go undefeated, but more than likely that is not going to happen. Coach Schiffner has really emphasized staying even-keel."

The Chatham lineup woke up in their 8-5 win over the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox at Red Wilson field on Sunday, scoring five runs in the fifth inning and three more in the sixth inning. The Anglers got big offensive performances from designated-hitter A.J. Murray (Georgia Tech), who collected two big doubles and drove in a run, shortstop Blake Butera (Boston College), who went 4-5 with 2 RBI, and second-baseman Dante Flores (USC), who went 2-3 and scored two runs for the Anglers.

Chad Sobotka (South Carolina- Upstate) rebounded from a blown save on Friday against Cotuit to pick up the win, not allowing a hit and striking out one in 2.1 innings pitched. Gage got the start and threw 4.2 solid innings, only allowing three earned runs and striking out two.

"It seems like we are doing everything well right now," coach John Schiffner said. "We're hitting the ball well, the pitching staff has been pretty good. We can not get over-confident, we just have to keep playing the way we are playing."

On the mound for the Anglers against Falmouth will be LHP Andrew Chin (Boston College). Chin picked up his first win in the season opener for Chatham against Wareham, where he pitched three shutout innings, only allowing one hit and picking up two strikeouts.

As a high school pitcher, he was drafted in the fifth-round by the Toronto Blue Jays, but had to undergo Tommy John Surgery. Chin had to redshirt his freshman season at Boston College, but in 2013, he had a 3.88 ERA in 13 starts.

LHP John Means (West Virginia) will be on the mound for Falmouth against the Anglers.

Todays game was supposed to be played on June 13, but was postponed due to rain.

The Anglers will look to stay unbeaten and improve to 5-0 as they return home to play the Falmouth Commodores.
