Dykstra Does It Before Fog Rolls In
Trailing 3-0, the A's took the lead with four in the third before the Chatham fog rolled in and ended the game after five innings at Veteran's Field.

Allan Dykstra's (Wake Forest) bases clearing triple capped the come from behind win for Chatham. Dykstra smoked a liner to right center to score Jermaine Curtis (UCLA), Kyle Seager (UNC) and Addison Johnson (Clemson).

Earlier in the inning, Seager singled home Chatham's first run and cut the lead to 3-1. Drew Crisp (South Carolina) doubled to start the rally and scored on Seager's base knock.

Things did not look good for Chatham early on. As the fog continued to thicken in the outfield, starter Alex White (UNC) surrendered a leadoff bomb to James Darnell (South Carolina) in the top of the second. In the third, White gave up two more runs on RBI hits from Joey Gonzales (UC-Riverside) and Shane Peterson (Long Beach St.) to put the A's in a 3-0 hole.

After White's offense spotted him a 4-3 lead, the Tarheel became a different pitcher and retired the side in order in the fourth. As the fog became even thicker in the fifth, Chatham needed a quick inning to make the game official and White came through again with a 1-2-3 inning.

Kyle Seager (UNC) tripled to leadoff the bottom of the fifth. After Curtis grounded out, the umpires conferenced at home plate and immediately sent the game into a 30-minute fog delay. When conditions did not improve by 8:46pm, the game was called and the A's got the W.

The A's hit the road tomorrow for a 5pm clash with Brewster at Stony Brook Field. Charles Brewer (UCLA) will be on the hill for Chatham.
