Chatham Releases 2014 Roster
The Chatham Anglers have released their roster for the 2014 Cape Cod Baseball League season. This year's team features 28 players from diverse backgrounds and institutions found throughout the nation.

The 2014 A's welcome back six players who appeared on last season's roster including Boston College's LHP Andrew Chin and INF Blake Butera. The duo is joined by Louisville's Kyle Funkhouser who led the A's in saves last season with four. Freshman All-American Landon Lassiter (North Carolina) returns to Chatham after compiling a .485 OBP a season ago. The final two returnees are Hunter Redman (Texas Tech) and AJ Murray (Georgia Tech) who appeared in a combined 20 games for the A's last summer.

The Anglers feature four juniors, 18 sophomores and six freshman. Boston College and The University of San Diego are the best represented schools with three players apiece. Four other programs send a pair of players to the A's in 2014.

For the second consecutive summer, the roster boasts two players whose older brothers donned Chatham blue in prior seasons. Georgia Tech's A.J. Murray follows brother Mike Murray (Chatham '09) to Veterans Field for a second summer. Louisville's Zach Burdi, brother of Nick Burdi (Chatham '12), makes his Cape League debut in 2014.

John Schiffner returns to the dugout for a Cape League record 22nd season as field manager. The winningest skipper in CCBL history eclipsed 450 wins en route to the team's first regular season Eastern Division championship since 2001. Schiffner is the reigning Cape League Manager of the Year.

Coaches Jay Genier, Alex Kocol and Jake McCarter join Schiffner in the dugout in 2014. Kocol and Genier were assistants with the team last season.

You can see the roster in its entirety on the Team Roster page of the website. You can follow the Chatham Anglers on Twitter at @ChathamAnglers for updates on alumni and college baseball throughout the spring.

Chatham opens its season June 11 in Orleans and plays its first game at Veterans Field June 12. View the entire 2014 calendar by looking at the Schedule/Results tab of the website.
