On Sunday evening, Chatham will try to end its four-game losing streak as the Anglers (15-15) make the trip to McKeon Park to face the Hyannis Harbor Hawks (12-18). In three games against the Harbor Hawks, Chatham has a 2-1 record, winning 4-3 on June 17, falling 8-4 on July 2 and prevailing 9-4 on July 14. Hyannis is coming off a 7-1 loss to the Cotuit Kettleers on Saturday night and sits in fourth place in the Western Division with 24 points.

Chatham fell 7-3 on Saturday night to the first place Harwich Mariners at Veterans Field. Maine's Tommy Lawrence (2-1, 3.20 ERA) suffered the loss for the Anglers, allowing five earned runs on nine hits in five and a third innings while striking out five batters. Three of Harwich's five runs against Lawrence came on a home run by second baseman Tyler Sciacca (Villanova) in the top of the sixth inning.

"Tommy threw well," said manager John Schiffner. "He did a nice job out there. He made one mistake against Harwich and that did him in. There's not a lot of room for error against Harwich. Their entire lineup is dangerous with all that power. You really have to be careful."

Chatham's runs came on an RBI groundout by second baseman Mike Fransoso (Maine), an RBI single by shortstop Pat Valaika (UCLA) and an RBI single by right fielder Dale Carey (Miami). With rallies in the fifth and ninth innings, the Anglers totaled five hits on the night and stranded seven men on base.

"Offensively, we were just a couple of hits shy of what we wanted to do," said Schiffner. "We're in a funk right now and hopefully we can play our way out of it."

Recently selected Cape League All-Star Ryan Thompson (1-0, 1.66 ERA) will make his fifth start of the season for Chatham. Thompson received a no-decision in his last start against Falmouth on July 15, allowing one earned run on four hits in five innings to go with three strikeouts. This summer, Thompson has fanned 24 batters and has issued only seven walks.

New Mexico's Josh Walker (1-0, 0.00 ERA) is scheduled to make his first start of the season for Hyannis. On July 15 against Orleans, Walker earned his first win of the season, throwing three and two thirds innings of scoreless relief and striking out three batters. In two appearances this season, Walker has allowed two hits.
