On Monday evening, the Chatham Anglers (11-10) journey to Doran Park to take on the Bourne Braves (6-15). Chatham has lost two games in a row and sits in the middle of the Eastern Division with 22 points. The Braves have won their last two games and are tied with Hyannis for the fewest points in the Western Division with 12. In the two prior matchups between these two teams, the Anglers have come out on top, winning 9-3 on June 21 and and 5-3 on June 28.

High Point's Jamie Schultz (0-0, 2.35 ERA) will man the rubber for Chatham and make his first start of the season. The stocky right-hander tossed four scoreless innings of relief in his last outing against Orleans on July 3, allowing one hit and striking out five batters. In his six appearances out of the bullpen, Schultz has allowed two earned runs on five hits and has 12 strikeouts. The New York native will battle a Bourne lineup that has scored 100 runs this season and is batting .254 as a team. The Braves are led offensively by North Carolina infielder Colin Moran, who is batting .299 with five home runs and 21 RBI.

Bourne will send Mississippi right-hander Mike Mayers (0-2, 4.80 ERA) to the mound against the Anglers. Mayers was given a no-decision in his most recent start against Wareham on July 3, surrendering two earned runs on four hits and striking out 10 batters. The six-foot three Ohio native has allowed at least two earned runs in his three stats this season and has recorded 21 strikeouts and issued only three walks. Of the Braves who have started three or more games, Mayers has the third highest ERA for a staff that allows an average of 5.43 runs per game.

In the past two games, the Anglers have scored six runs on twelve hits and have committed five errors. After being given a couple of days to rest, Virginia Tech third baseman and designated hitter Chad Pinder is now tied with Bourne's Moran for the league lead in RBI with 21. Louisville center fielder Adam Engel has not stolen a base in six games and is currently in a four-way tie with Cotuit's Tony Kemp (Vanderbilt), Cotuit's Jacob May (Coastal Carolina) and Falmouth's Billy Ferriter (Connecticut) for the league lead with 11. Pepperdine pitcher and outfielder Aaron Brown leads the Anglers in batting average, batting .275 and California catcher, first baseman and designated hitter Andrew Knapp leads the team in home runs with three and is second in RBI with 11.
