On Saturday night, the Chatham Anglers (11-8) will take a ten-minute bus ride to Whitehouse Field to take on the Harwich Mariners (13-6). Chatham emerged victorious in the first matchup between the two teams on Friday night, winning 5-3. The Anglers have won three games in a row and have a golden opportunity to gain ground on the Mariners, who lead the Eastern Division with 26 points.

Chatham will send UC Irvine's Jimmy Litchfield (0-1, 9.00 ERA) to the mound against Harwich. The six-foot one southpaw suffered a loss in his only start of the season against the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox on July, giving up six runs on six hits in two and a third innings. Litchfield will face a Mariner team batting .248 collectively. The Anglers held the Mariners to only five hits on Friday night and recorded a season-high eighteen strikeouts. Despite leading the Cape League in home runs with 32, Harwich has only one long ball in its last four games.

The Mariners will give Virginia Tech southpaw Eddie Campbell (1-0, 2.77 ERA) the ball on Saturday night. The Massachusetts native received a no-decision in his last start on June 30 against Hyannis, allowing one earned run on three hits in two and two thirds innings of work. Campbell has 15 strikeouts this season and has never given up more than two earned runs in his three starts. With three earned runs given up on Friday night, Harwich has a 4.01 team ERA, the fourth best in the league. Chatham currently has the third best mark with a 3.56 team ERA.

During their three game winning streak, the Anglers have scored 19 runs on 27 hits and have committed one error. While he was not in the lineup on Friday night against Harwich, Virginia Tech third baseman and designated hitter Chad Pinder still leads the Cape League in RBI with 20. Additionally, Louisville center fielder and leadoff hitter Adam Engel remains atop the league in stolen bases with 11, even though the speedster has not swiped a bag in four games. Catcher, first baseman and designated hitter Andrew Knapp (California) is on a five-game hitting streak and now leads the team with a .288 batting average and is second in RBI with 11.
