Dane Phillips Named CCBL Player of the Week

The Chatham Anglers' Dane Phillips (OK State) has been named the CCBL's Player of the Week. His selection would be hard to argue. In the last seven games, Phillips has hit two home runs, driven in eight runs, and been on base in every game, helped by seven walks. He is batting .317 on the season.

For weeks, Phillips has struck fear in opposing pitchers when he comes to bat with runners on base. He leads the Anglers with 24 RBI, trailing only Cotuit's Victor Roache (Georgia Southern) who has 28 RBI, for the league lead.

Last week, Phillips was named catcher for the East team in Friday's CCBL All-Star Game at Fenway Park.

Chatham plays a home game against Bourne Monday night at 7 p.m.
