Verrett Owns A Spot In Chatham History
The 2010 summer saw its share of monumental performances and exciting moments that will surely be talked about over the offseason in anticipation of the 2011 campaign. One such performance was turned in by right-handed starter Logan Verrett, whose infinitesimal 0.87 ERA ranked as the second-lowest for a starter in Chatham's team history. The Baylor Bear and two-time Angler posted a 2-1 record, but allowed only four runs over 41.1 innings in his six starts.

In Verrett's first start of the season, the right hander set the tone for the summer by pitching seven scoreless innings, allowing just three hits and one walk while striking out nine. Building off of that momentum, his next start again consisted of seven scoreless innings, but this time Verrett didn't allow a single hit, and only gave up one base runner via a walk while striking out four. One week later, he pitched six scoreless innings, allowing five hits and two walks while striking out two.

Though he did finally allow two runs in his next start, Verrett, in his fifth start, bounced back with 8.1 solid innings, striking out ten and allowing just two runs, both coming in the ninth inning.

Verrett was chosen along with three other Anglers to represent the Eastern Division in the League's annual All Star Game, and was listed by Baseball America as the CCBL's 19th rated prospect from the 2010 season.
