Chatham Anglers
With teams getting hyped up to play the first place Anglers, wins have become harder to find for Chatham. In the first 5:30PM Sunday home game of the season at Veteran's Field, the Orleans Firebirds stole a 2-1 victory off of just two hits.

It was a rocky first inning for Anglers starter Thomas Keeling. He experienced control issues walking four batters and throwing five wild pitches that led to the only two runs for Orleans.

New addition Logan Verrett came in relief and kept the Anglers in the ballgame. The Baylor freshman threw 5.1 scoreless innings letting up just one hit and striking out seven.

Orleans starting pitcher Jimmy Reyes made it difficult for Chatham to catch up with a dominant start for the Firebirds. Reyes went seven strong innings letting up just one run and K'ing nine batters.

The Anglers only run off Reyes came in the fourth inning when a Tom Belza single led to an RBI groundout by Joey Terdoslavich.

In the bottom of the ninth inning Alex Hassan entered the game searching for his first save of the season. Back-to-back singles by Steven Brooks and Joey Terdoslavich put two runners aboard with one out and the Anglers down one run. Then Dean Green and Mike Murray popped out to end the game, a third consecutive loss for Chatham.
