Six Chatham Anglers were named to the Cape Cod Baseball League Year-End All-League Team on Thursday, the most of any team in the league.

Michael Busch (North Carolina) was one of two infield utility All-Star selections. The Minnesota native played first and second base during the regular season before settling in as the starting second baseman for the playoffs. Busch, who played his first game on July 3, recorded six homers, 17 RBIs and 29 hits in 27 regular season games. He mashed his only postseason round-tripper in Game 1 of the East Division Series against the Harwich Mariners.

Spencer Torkelson (Arizona State) was a force on offense all season, raking in seven home runs and 25 RBIs while posting a .704 slugging percentage during the regular season. Like Busch, Torkelson missed a portion of the summer. The California native was away for three weeks (June 25 to July 16) when he played for Team USA. After returning on July 17, Torkelson reasserted himself immediately and helped push the A’s to the Championship Series. The right-handed slugger belted three long balls and seven RBI in six postseason games.

Blake Sabol (Southern California), selected as an outfielder on the All-League team, did it all for the A’s during the 2018 summer. He played six different positions, batted all around the order before eventually settling into the leadoff spot at the end of the season. One of the A’s most potent hitters, Sabol crushed seven homers and 22 RBIs, stole 14 bases and struck out just 21 times while drawing 21 walks in 37 appearances during the regular season. From July 13 to 15, he smacked a home run in the second inning of three consecutive games.

Tristin English (Georgia Tech) showed his wide array of talent at the plate and on the mound as he helped guide the Anglers to the Championship Series. He was selected to the All-League team as a utility player. With his bat, English possessed a .300 batting average along with five homers and 19 RBIs in the regular season. When Torkelson departed for Team USA, English stepped in as Chatham’s primary power-hitter, tallying four long balls in the first six games after Torkelson left. The right-hander also made five appearances on the bump — most notably allowing two runs and five hits in 8 ' innings in Game 2 of the East Division Championship Series — and posted a 2.21 ERA over the regular season and playoffs.

One of two Chatham pitchers named to the All-League Team, Alek Manoah (West Virginia) mowed down opposing batters all season. The 6’7” right-hander logged a 2.70 ERA in seven regular season appearances and recorded eight strikeouts or more in five of his nine total outings on the summer. Manoah led the league in strikeouts (48) during the regular season and then struck out another 20 batters in two playoff appearances.

Troy Miller (Michigan) — the second Chatham pitcher selected as All-League — was stellar out of the bullpen during his time in Chatham, which ended on July 22 when he signed with the Toronto Blue Jays. Miller made nine appearances and hurled 23.2 innings for the Anglers, holding opponents to a .114 batting average while registering a 1.14 ERA. In each of his outings, Miller allowed no more than three hits.

No other team had more than four selections, while the Brewster Whitecaps were the only team without a Year-End All-League player.
