2018 A's earn postseason honors

Nine 2018 Chatham Anglers earned postseason honors from their respective conferences this week. Six leagues are represented on this year’s A’s roster (Big East, ACC, Big 12, CAA, Missouri Valley, NE-10).

BIG EAST:

Josh Shaw, St. Johns (2018 All-BIG EAST First Team)

The 2017 Cape League All-Star is enjoying a career year for the Red Storm, batting .305 with 39 RBIs and 16 doubles on the season.

ATLANTIC COAST:

Tristin English, Georgia Tech (2018 All-ACC First Team)

English was named a Midseason All-American back in April and has only continued his strong 2018 campaign. The redshirt sophomore has driven in a career-high 60 runs and tallied 23 extra-base hits.

Michael Busch, North Carolina (2018 All-ACC Second Team)

Busch got off to a blazing start and was even named Collegiate Baseball Newspaper's National Player of the Week in March. He ranks seventh in the conference in RBI (52) and blasted 11 home runs in 56 games.

Kyle McCann, Georgia Tech (2018 All-ACC Third Team)

As a .300 hitter, the sophomore set career highs in hits (57), home runs (15), RBIs (45) and total bases (114).

Freddy Zamora, Miami (2018 ACC All-Freshman Team)

The freshman burst on to the scene early and is the only player to start every single game this season for the 'Canes. In his first season, Zamora's batting .303 with 28 RBIs.

BIG 12:

Cody Bradford, Baylor (Big 12 Pitcher of the Year, All-Big 12 First Team)

Bradford is one of the top pitchers in college baseball this season, and the numbers speak for themselves. In 13 starts, the sophomore has posted a 2.38 ERA in 90.2 inning to go along with 86 strikeouts.

Shea Langeliers, Baylor (All-Big 12 First Team)

Langeliers was a Preseason All-American by D1Baseball.com, and his 2018 season has lived up to the expectations. After spending last summer in Chatham, the junior has 10 home runs and 42 RBIs.

COLONIAL:

Greg Jones, UNCW (CAA All-Rookie Team)

The freshman speedster has 55 starts for UNCW this spring. Jones has swiped 16 bases and scored 41 runs, but can also swing the bat with 17 RBIs.

MISSOURI VALLEY:

John Rave, Illinois State (All-Missouri Valley Second Team)

Rave earned a conference honorable mention a year ago, and notched 55 hits this season—20 of which were doubles. The outfielder also stole 12 bases.

Note: The Sun Belt, Pac 12 and Big West have not yet announced their postseason awards.
