Chatham's 2010 Coaching Staff Features Some Fresh Faces

With the 2010 season just two months away, the Chatham Anglers coaching staff is intact and ready to lead a talented team in the quest for championship number six.
Legendary Head Coach John Schiffner returns for his 18th consecutive season at the helm and 26th overall in Chatham. Two assistant coaches, Jay Grenier and David Miller, return for a second season with the Anglers.
Two newcomers enter the scene with big shoes to fill.
Ryan Heil of Riverside College in California has been tabbed as the new pitching coach. Heil makes the summer league jump from the Corvallis Knights of the West Coast League last season. As pitching coach of the Knights, Heil and the rest of the coaching staff led the team to the WCL Championship. For Chatham, he replaces pitching guru Tyler Kincaid.
Kincaid accepted the position as assistant coach/pitching coach at the University of San Diego. He was one of the most well-liked personalities in Chatham in addition to his exceptional ability to develop pitchers. Kincaid was a standout pitching coach from 2005-2009 at Palomar College concluding his career with a 36-13-1 season in '09 and his second Pacific Coast Conference Championship. NCAA Division One coaches are not eligible to coach in the Cape Cod Baseball League so it will be up to Heil to continue the Anglers tradition of excellent pitching teachers.
The second new addition to the 2010 Chatham staff is Roberto Saenz from Lewis-Clark State College, in Lewiston, Idaho. Saenz coached against Heil last summer in the WCL Championship and his team, the Wenatchee Applesox came out on top. Berto, as he likes to be called, will specialize with the defense in addition to serving as the team's third base coach.
Also, last year's bullpen catcher and frequent National Anthem singer Alex Schlosberg will take on the role of bullpen coach in addition to remaining as the team's bullpen catcher.
