Chatham announces beat writers for 2023 season
CHATHAM, MA. -- The Chatham Athletic Association announced additions to its Media Team Tuesday.

Graham Dietz, a rising junior at Boston College in the Morrissey College of Arts and Sciences, and Tyler Schiff, a rising senior in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, will serve as Chatham’s beat writers for the upcoming season.

Jake Klein, an incoming freshman at Syracuse University, takes on the role of producer after multiple seasons as a Media Team assistant.

“We’re excited to have these smart, multi-talented journalists as part of our team," CAA Media Consultant Dan D'Uva said. “They will embrace and excel in the special responsibility of chronicling Chatham’s 100th anniversary season.”

Dietz and Schiff will write stories for Chatham’s website, report news on the club’s social media platforms, edit game-day stat sheets and shape other publications. Their articles will include previews and game stories for each Anglers matchup along with feature stories throughout the season.

"Graham and Tyler are impressive journalists with strong character," D'Uva said. "They exhibit the best traits of a reporter: enthusiasm, initiative, versatility and curiosity. Their ingenuity and leadership will be an asset for our Media Team and a boon for readers."

Klein will oversee the team’s audio and video production, statistical research and graphic design. He contributed as a Media Team assistant the last three years.

“Jake's diligence has ensured quality in every aspect of our Media Team efforts, especially last summer," D'Uva said. "His experience in Chatham, along with a growing and diverse range of skills, makes him an increasingly valued member of the group."

Dietz, Schiff and Klein join broadcasters Joe Puccio and Andrew Selover on Chatham’s 2023 Media Team. The Anglers’ first game is Saturday, June 10, at Cotuit.

Graham Dietz | Boston College

Dietz, from New York, New York, enters his first summer as a beat writer with the A’s. A rising junior at Boston College and an English major, he currently serves as the Sports Editor for The Heights, Boston College’s independent student newspaper, overseeing a staff of 20 writers. He served as the Assistant Sports Editor in spring 2022, and as the Associate Sports Editor in fall 2022. Dietz primarily writes for BC’s football, men’s hockey, and baseball teams, but has also done coverage in women’s hockey, golf, and field hockey. He manages The Heights’ Sports Twitter account with over 3,900 followers, and designs pages for the weekly edition.

Tyler Schiff | Syracuse University

Schiff is a native of San Francisco, California, but spent the majority of his childhood in Beijing, China. He is a rising senior studying Broadcast and Digital Journalism at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. Schiff is the Sports Editor at The Daily Orange — SU’s student-led newspaper — and is currently a beat writer covering Syracuse women’s lacrosse. Schiff previously spent time as an associate producer at CitrusTV. He spent last summer working as a broadcast intern for Spokane’s NBC affiliate, KHQ TV.

Jake Klein | Syracuse University

A lifelong Chatham summer resident originally from Southborough, Massachusetts, Klein is an incoming freshman at the S.I. Newhouse School at Syracuse University studying Broadcast and Digital Journalism. He recently graduated from the Loomis Chaffee School in Windsor, Connecticut, having called over 100 baseball, basketball, football, hockey, lacrosse, soccer and volleyball games for the school. Klein also works as a writer for New England Football Journal and United States Hockey Report in addition to serving as the sports editor of his school's newspaper, The Loomis Chaffee Log.
