The Chatham Anglers will welcome the Bourne Braves to Veterans Field for the third and final matchup between the two teams. The Braves are currently 20-3-3, and the Anglers are the only team to not lose against them this season, and no one else has won or tied more than once. Only four more teams have an opportunity to try to join Chatham in winning or tying twice, and the Anglers have a chance tonight to be the only team the Braves did not defeat this season.

Probable Pitchers

Tanner Witt takes the mound against the Braves in his first appearance against a team other than Harwich. In eight innings, he's allowed just five hits, but also walked five batters while giving up three runs. He's struck out the same number of batters he's let reach ' 10 ' and allowed just two extra-base hits, one a double and the other a home run.

Michael Sansone will be making his second appearance of the season against the Anglers. He came in relief in the Braves' second loss of the season, allowing one run in five innings after the starter allowed three in the first inning and left the game. He allowed just three hits and struck out eight, but one of those hits was a home run to Lyle Miller-Green to give the Anglers their fifth run of the night. Sansone has a 1.00 ERA and .148 opponent batting average this season.

Chatham Players to Watch

Lyle Miller-Green was responsible for one of Chatham's three hits last night, which came via an infield single that scored Chatham's lone run. Miller-Green is the Anglers home run leader, and used to be the league home run leader, but hasn't hit a home run in nine games, his longest drought of the season. That was also his most recent extra base hit, with his slugging percentage dropping from .518 to .416 in that span.

Jake DeLeo has struggled at the plate single his early-season surge, but he's made strides in Chatham's past few games. Friday at Brewster, he had a walk to load the bases for Chatham and later hit a line drive to the warning track center field that was caught just before the wall. Like Miller-Green, many of his well-hit balls have gone directly to fielders, with Chatham manager Tom Holliday saying he's due for a hit.

Bourne Players to Watch

Christian Knapczyk is the league's batting average leader and has been for most of the season as he's riding an eight game hitting-streak, his longest of the season so far. He has multiple hits in five of those games. He also has a 12-game on base streak, including two walks and zero hits earlier in the season at Veterans Field.

Braylen Wimmer has been on base in nine-straight games, with the streak ending in a game he had one at-bat. He's tied for the team lead in RBI, and although there are several people in the league ahead of him, it shows that Bourne's hitting is more spread out ' everyone threatens to drive in a run, not just one or two guys like several other teams in the league.

The Anglers are one of three Cape Cod Baseball League teams to score at least one run in every game, and the Braves lead the West Division with three shutouts. Even with the third fewest runs per game, second lowest on base percentage and several games with two or fewer hits, the Anglers have found a way to score at least once in 28 games. With 75 total runs allowed this season, Bourne may be Chatham's biggest threat to that streak without a shutout.

Last Time They Played

After tying the Braves earlier in the season for their first non-win of the season, the Anglers scored five runs in the first two innings to hand Bourne its second loss of the season. Four Anglers had extra-base hits, and Kolby Kubichek and Dylan Carmouche combined to allow two runs in seven innings before Cade Winquest shut down the Braves in the final two. The win kicked off a three-game homestand where Chatham won two of the three before a three-game road trip.
