Ken Voges (Chatham '63) took the time to visit Veterans Field 50 years after he played there in the summer of 1963. That year, Voges hit a Cape League record .505, recording 55 hits in 109 at-bats. No player in the Cape League's modern era has come within 62 points of his record batting average. He was inducted into the Cape Cod Baseball League Hall of Fame in 2005.
The Chatham outfielder would go on to play minor league baseball in the Chicago Cubs organization, going as far as Triple-A. The Texas Lutheran alum currently lives with his wife in Houston, Texas.
He took the time to sit down with broadcasters Keith Zubrow and Brandon Liebhaber to talk about what he remembers from that summer, how honored he is to be a part of Cape League history and much more in this Anglers In-Depth feature.
