Anglers Look for Third-Straight Win, take on Y-D
The Chatham Anglers (17-8-1) came back to win in dramatic fashion on Saturday at Eldredge Park, defeating the Orleans Firebirds 2-1 with a little help from mother nature.

Trailing 1-0 in the seventh inning, Chatham came back to take the lead with the help of a home run from J.D Davis (Cal State Fullerton) and a bases-loaded wild pitch from Orleans starter Bobby Poyner (Florida), giving the Anglers a 2-1 lead.

The seventh inning was completed, but the game was called in the eighth inning due to rain, and Chatham got the victory.

The Anglers will look for their third-straight victory tonight, as they return to Veterans Field to take on the Y-D Red Sox (12-13-1).

Chatham is in the middle of a six-game stretch within the division. So far, they are 2-1 in this stretch, collecting victories over Brewster and Orleans. The Anglers last loss came on July 8 against Y-D, where they fell 6-4 to the Red Sox.

In their last meeting at Veterans Field, Chatham would come back to win in walk-off fashion behind a game-winning RBI double from Dante Flores (USC).

Andrew Chin (Boston College) will make his sixth
start tonight against Y-D. Chin is 2-0 in five starts
this season.

Left-hander Andrew Chin (Boston College) will be on the mound tonight for Chatham, making his sixth start of the season.

Chin is 2-0 on the season, but has not recorded a victory since his second start on June 17 against Falmouth, where he threw five innings of shutout baseball, only allowing two hits.

In his last start, Chin gave four hits and no earned runs, while striking out three over five innings pitched against Brewster. He did not factor into the decision, as Chatham would win the game in walk-off fashion in the 10th inning.

Chatham continues to lead the league in total pitching with a 2.56 combined earned run average, and they lead the league in runs given, only allowing 82 on the season.

Chin's counterpart on the mound will be left-hander Kyle Wood (Purdue), who will make his sixth appearance of the season for the Red Sox.

Wood has struggled this season, with a 7.61 ERA. in 13 innings pitched, Wood has allowed 18 hits and 17 runs.

Red Sox infielder Alex Blandino (Stanford) leads the Y-D offense, hitting for a .333 average with five RBI and two stolen bases in 18 games played.

Along with Blandino, Andrew Daniel (San Diego) is also hitting for a .333 average, with 14 RBI and 12 runs scored.

Sitting in first place with only 17 games left in the regular season, the Chatham Anglers will look to further separate themselves with a win tonight against the third-place Red Sox.
