Chatham Takes on Y-D for Last Time in Regular Season
Following a rain-out on Tuesday afternoon, the Chatham Anglers (17-19-1) return to Red Wilson Field to take on the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox (20-17) at 4:30 p.m. Due to Tuesday's torrential downpour, no baseball games were played all across the Cape League. Chatham still holds a six point edge over the Brewster Whitecaps for the fourth and final playoff spot in the East Division and Y-D remains only four points away from first place.

San Diego's Louie Lechich (1-1, 3.08 ERA) will make his fifth start of the season for the Anglers, despite getting pushed back a day due to the rain. Lechich earned a no-decision ins his most recent start against Y-D on July 25 (5.2IP, 4H, 4R, 1ER, 0BB, 4K). A control pitcher who likes to move the ball all around the plate, Lechich has struck out 26 batters on 26.1 innings and has issued just five walks.

With no scheduled starter known, Y-D's pitcher for the beginning of Wednesday's game is still to be determined. The Red Sox pitching staff currently has a 4.25 team ERA, good for fifth best in the Cape League. Opposing teams have combined to hit .258 against Y-D this season to go with 32 home runs, also ranking the team fifth in the league. While Y-D sits in the middle of the pack in team ERA, opposing batting average and home runs allowed, the Red Sox have struck out 366 batters, second only to Harwich.
