A Chatham A's roster would seem incomplete without at least one player from the University of North Carolina. Eight different Tar Heels have played for the A's over the last three summers and the Chapel Hill to Chatham connection has been strong for many years prior. The UNC coaching staff visited Cape Cod during the last weekend of July and spent one evening at Veterans Field to see the four Tar Heels playing for Chatham this summer: Tim Federowicz, Kyle Seager, Alex White and Rob Wooten. During that stop, Tarheels head coach Mike Fox spoke with Dan D'Uva about the relationship between a college program and a summer team and Chatham's special connection thanks to Chad Holbrook, a Chatham outfielder in 1992 and a Carolina assistant the last 13 years. Fox and D'Uva discuss the process of figuring out which players go to which summer teams and what kind of player he likes to send to Chatham.
