Ryan Hinson Talks In Depth about the "Mental Game"
by Dan D'Uva Thursday, July 26, 2007
Yogi Berra once proclaimed baseball to be ninety percent mental and half physical. Ryan Hinson's mathematics make much more sense and his insight into the mental game of baseball may rival Berra's philosophizing. In a half hour conversation with Dan D'Uva, the lefty from Clemson discusses motivation, confidence and pride in his approach to the game. He also reflects on his father's tragic death in the fall of 2004 (Ryan's senior year of high school) and the value of relationships in baseball and in life. Hinson also talks about his professional approach to playing the game in Chatham and the character of the 2007 A's.
