Chatham snapped a four-game winless streak Sunday with a 5-2 win over Bourne, the Cape Cod Baseball League's best team, and returns to Veterans Field for a third meeting against Harwich this season. The Mariners were shutout by Brewster, 4-0, in their most recent game, with three of those runs coming from a seventh-inning home run.

The Anglers pitching staff has recorded 217 strikeouts this season, which ranks first in the CCBL, but Hariwch's staff ranks second in the league ' though that number sits 28 behind the Anglers. The Mariners had won three of their last four before their loss, with the fourth game being a 3-3 tie against Wareham.

Probable Pitchers

One night after Kubichek's debut, Tanner Witt, his Texas teammate, makes his first Chatham start the night after being activated. Witt finished with a 5-0 record, though he allowed two or more runs in four of his last six appearances. But he walked just 25 batters in 57 innings, while striking out 73 batters during that span. Prep Baseball Report ranked him the No. 1 shortstop and No. 4 prospect overall in Texas out of high school, and, in his first collegiate season, Witt hit .231 in 13 at-bats scattered across the season.

Andrew Mosiello makes his third start of the season for the Mariners, and his first in 10 days, after taking a loss to Bourne and a no-decision in Hariwch's win over Cotuit. He's allowed four runs in those two outings ' which combined for seven innings ' and compiled a 5.14 ERA with 10 strikeouts and five walks.

The right-hander from Oregon appeared in 21 games in his second season with the Ducks, with one start mixed in, and finished with a 4.12 ERA. He struggled in his final appearance of the season against LSU, allowing four runs on five hits across four innings, but before that six of his previous appearances resulted in no earned runs allowed.

Chatham Players to Watch

Lyle Miller-Green lifted a home run for the second time in three games on Sunday night to continue his recent surge at the plate for Chatham. The outfielder and first baseman from Chipola College has three multi-hit games in his last five, and Miller-Green remains tied with Falmouth's Jace Bohrofen for the CCBL lead in RBI. But he's also struck out in every game he's played except Chatham's 6-3 win over Yarmouth-Dennis on July 2.

Josh Rivera extended his hitting streak to six games with a single to right field against Bourne, and he finished 2-for-4 to raise his average to .245. Before that stretch started, Rivera's average had dipped as low as .139, with just one hit in 13 at-bats, but he's 8-for-17 since with two doubles, three walks and just two strikeouts.

Harwich Players to Watch

The first runs Adam Tulloch surrendered this season crossed the plate when Ben Malgeri crushed a three-run home run in the fourth inning on Friday. He has the third-highest slugging percentage on the Mariners, trailing Brock Wilken and Tatem Levins, and has recorded hits in his last three games after recording just two in his first seven. He transferred to Northeastern ' where Chatham pitcher Sebastian Keane attends ' after spending the previous two years at Holy Cross and New Mexico Junior College, and slugged five home runs in the Colonial Athletic Association tournament to go along with seven during the regular season.

Brock Wilken continues to pace the Mariners in most offensive categories, and his 20 hits are tied for second in the CCBL. He slugged .593 through his first 53 at-bats this season, pairing with a .339 average that also ranks top-10 in the league. Wilken set the Wake Forest record with 17 home runs as a freshman this past season, a number that also ranked first in the country among freshmen.

Stat to Know ' 23

Chatham's four errors against Bourne last night gave it 23 on the season, tied for worst in the CCBL. Orleans, which holds the league's best fielding percentage, has 10 errors. Josh Rivera and Andrew Benefield have recorded the most on the Anglers, committing four and three at shortstop and third base, respectively.

Last Time They Played

Chatham and Harwich met for the second time this season at Whitehouse Field on Saturday, and the Anglers surrendered seven runs in the fourth and seventh innings in their 7-5 loss. They retook the lead in the sixth when Michael Brown hit an RBI fielder's choice and Rivera scored on an error, but Garrett Crowley allowed three runs in the bottom of the inning to flip the game in the Mariners' favor.
