Cardinals Salvage Final Game 9-5
Orleans scored two in the first and never looked back, topping Chatham 9-5 in the final game of the regular season at Veteran's Field.

The loss kept the A's from sweeping their rivals, but Chatham still finishes the season with an impressive 5-1 record against the Cardinals. While the Cardinals head home, the A's will play Friday at 3pm against Y-D in game one of the Eastern Division Playoffs.

Nate Freiman (Duke) started the scoring barrage with a two-out, two-run homer in the top of the first. The smash scored Dennis Raben (Miami), who had singled with two down off Chatham starter Ryan Hinson (Clemson).

Chatham came back with one in the third on a Jermaine Curtis RBI groundout, but Orleans scored three more in the fifth. Ollie Linton (UC-Irvine) and Jose Jimenez (Tampa) had RBI hits in the three run rally.

After Hinson left after five, Orleans scored four off reliever Jeff Lorick (Virginia) in the seventh. The A's also had one error in the inning as Trey Watten (Abilene Christian) could not handle a possible double play ball.

After the offday Thursday, the second season begins Friday with a 3pm matchup against the Y-D Red Sox. Alex White (UNC) gets the start for the A's as they begin their quest for the Cape League Championship.
